How to Schedule Posts on Instagram





Welcome back to our post series about tips on marketing your business on Instagram! When it comes to Instagram, it is really important to post content regularly. But let's face it: keeping up with the daily posts can be a bit challenging from time to time. Making content beforehand and scheduling post can save you a lot of time and help you to get your content out when you followers are most active. This post gives you step-by-step instructions how to schedule posts on your Instagram business account.

Make Sure That Your Instagram Business Profile is Connected to Facebook Business Page

Scheduling post on Instagram is only available to Instagram Business profiles that are connected to Facebook business page. So if you haven't connected your profile to Facebook yet, do it now! Just go to Settings, Business and Connect a Facebook page.



Choose 3rd Party App for Scheduling Your Posts

There are several third party apps that can be used to schedule post on Instagram, such as Hootsuite, Later and Buffer. Some of the apps have free versions, but unlock all features you have to pay for subscription. In this post we focus on Buffer, which has a pretty good free plan as well. The free plan lets you use 3 different accounts and you can schedule up to 10 posts in the queue. After you have downloaded the app, connect it to your Instagram profile and Facebook. Log into Buffer with your Instagram business account and give Buffer rights to access to your Instagram. After this, Buffer will ask you to connect with Facebook as well. To get started, tap on "Authenticate with Facebook". Now you are ready to start scheduling!

Let's Schedule Some Posts!

Open Buffer and simply tap "Compose an Update" or the big blue plus button on the bottom. Here you can add your photo or video and write the caption for it. When you tap "share" on the bottom right corner, Buffer gives you an opportunity to share the post now, schedule it for later or add the post to queue. If you want to schedule your post on specific time, tap on "Schedule Post" and you will be able to choose the time from calendar.

You can set a regular posting schedule by going to settings. Here you can selects how many times a day you want to publish a post. When you have set the posting schedule, buffer will automatically post the next post from your queue. Easy, right? With these easy steps you can schedule post on your Instagram business profile and stay on top or your posting schedule!
