Creating Social Media Content



Social Media content can be difficult to create, with so many content creators out there, it can be hard to differentiate yourself from the crowd, whilst still remaining "trendy" or "relevant".

Content creation is essential however in today's social media marketing strategies. However most businesses fail to properly connect with their consumers within social media, with most consumers preferring to follow people then the brands themselves. To ensure your content is viewed in a widespread manner, you must ensure it is shareable!

1. High Quality. Shareable Content is usually high-quality. Followers must be engaged/entertained. Try to focus on relevant/trendy topics, while not attempting to take shortcuts, as proper quality content usually sees itself becoming shareable. For example, Youtuber Casey Neistat, created his career based on created shareable high-quality video, ahead of the curve, which saw a massive amount of success!


2. Create Value. Portray an ability to create value, that should be your primary goal, to illustrate your ability to solve a problem. This will create awareness of your brand experience, as well as differentiate yourself from competition, keeping consumers coming back for more and create more unique content.

3. Use infographics. Infographics are easy to understand while remaining informative. They are easily shareable visual content, which are quite easy to create, while keeping your quality relatively high! Make sure to incorporate your business expertise and create value!

4. Nostalgia. Nostalgia is a powerful emotional tool, with users preferring content that reminds them of their old memories, for example, depending on the target market you wish to aim for, nostalgia from the 90's may be extremely powerful. For example, look back at the success of Pokemon Go!, which created a nostalgic effect with its consumers, bringing back old memories to create a viral effect across the world!




5. Exploit Trendy Topics. Trendy topics is an obligation to be understood by social media marketers. Make use of the latest trends, and incorporate it into your content, to make it more shareable and relateable. Consider how to implement these trends within your business' content!


6. Create interactable content. Contests and give-aways are a great way to create interaction with your consumers and your business. Creating incentives for consumers to share content will assist in spreading your content around, whilst giving consumers a reason to stay tuned in!


7. Videos are key. Social media content is dominated by video content at the moment, with video content making up to 80% of all internet traffic in 2018. This can be seen by Twitter's own move to incorporate video to its platform. Videos are more likely to go viral as they tend to be more captivating towards the end user!

8. Be Yourself! Business may be serious, but social media marketing doesn't always have to be. Funny relateable posts seem to grab user's attention more often then not, and can see your content being shared more easily. So don't be afraid to be yourself!
